Intermittent Motion Cartoner
Pac Volt Intermittent Motion Cartoning Machine
A versatile intermittent motion cartoner handling tubes, blisters, bottles, sachets, and ampules — reliable servo-driven indexing with a compact footprint suited for mid-volume pharmaceutical and personal care lines.
Machine Overview
Flexible Cartoning for Mid-Volume Lines
The Pac Volt is Pacmac's intermittent motion cartoner — ideal for lines that run multiple product formats across shifts. The servo-indexed carton transport delivers consistent pack quality from 30 to 100 cartons per minute with minimal changeover downtime.
Servo Indexed Transport
Servo-driven carton chain for precise indexing, low noise, and adjustable speed from 30 to 100 cartons per minute.
Multi-Format Flexibility
Handles tubes, blisters, bottles, ampules, sachets, and pouches — one machine for your full product portfolio.
Quick Format Changes
Adjustable carton guides and quick-release product feed components reduce SKU changeover to under 30 minutes.
Leaflet Insertion
Integrated leaflet feeder for pharmaceutical package inserts — servo-driven folding with jam detection and auto-reject.
Intuitive HMI
Touchscreen control with stored recipes, batch management, fault codes, and production reporting for shift supervisors.
GMP Compatible
Stainless steel product-contact parts, fully enclosed construction, and optional IQ/OQ documentation for pharma lines.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the Pac Volt intermittent cartoning machine.
Intermittent motion means the carton chain indexes — stops briefly for product insertion, then advances. This gives reliable, gentle insertion with fragile or irregularly-shaped products, and is easier to validate and troubleshoot than continuous motion. It is preferred for speeds up to 100 cartons per minute or for lines running many different product formats where changeover flexibility matters more than maximum throughput.
The Pac Volt handles carton widths from 30 mm to 150 mm, heights from 20 mm to 100 mm, and lengths from 50 mm to 300 mm. Adjustable guides and servo-positioned format parts accommodate this full size range. The machine handles standard end-load carton formats with tucked-end or glued-end closing options.
The Pac Volt handles filled tubes (from Mac 100 or Mac 200), blister packs, bottles, ampules, sachets, pouches, and coils. Multiple product feeders can be configured on the same machine for combination packs — such as a tube plus a leaflet, or a blister plus a device. Custom infeed conveyors are configured to your specific product dimensions during the application engineering phase.
The Pac Volt uses intermittent motion (indexing carton chain) and runs at up to 100 cartons per minute. The Pac Glide uses continuous motion and runs at up to 150 cartons per minute. Choose the Pac Volt when you run many different product formats across shifts or need gentle handling for fragile packs. Choose the Pac Glide when you run one primary format at sustained high speed and want higher throughput efficiency with a lower cost per carton.
The Pac Volt is designed for rapid changeovers. Adjustable carton guides, quick-release product feed components, and stored recipe positions reduce SKU changeover to under 30 minutes. Pacmac pre-configures all carton and product format sets to your portfolio before delivery, so changeovers are guided by recipe selection rather than manual measurement.
Yes. The standard Pac Volt specification includes a leaflet feeder with servo-driven folding, jam detection, and auto-reject for missing or misfed inserts. The leaflet feeder is synchronised with the carton chain for 100% leaflet-to-carton verification. Multi-page, fan-fold, and outsert leaflet formats are available as options.
Yes. The Pac Volt is the recommended downstream cartoner for Mac 100 and Mac 200 tube filling lines. Pacmac designs the complete tube-filling-to-cartoning layout and provides matched I/O signals to synchronise line speed and reject handling between both machines. The Pac Volt can also be integrated with blister machines, vial lines, or bottle lines.
Yes. The Pac Volt includes stainless steel product-contact parts and fully enclosed cGMP-compliant construction. Optional IQ/OQ documentation packages are available for regulated pharmaceutical lines. The HMI stores batch records, alarm logs, and recipe parameters for regulatory audit, with 21 CFR Part 11 audit trail available on request.
The Pac Volt supports inline coding with thermal inkjet (TIJ), thermal transfer overprint (TTO), or laser coding systems mounted on the carton line. Variable data including batch number, expiry date, and serial number can be printed and camera-verified before carton closing. Integration with track-and-trace and serialisation systems is available as an option for pharmaceutical lines.
The Pac Volt is designed and manufactured by Pacmac. Every machine undergoes factory acceptance testing (FAT) before shipment. After-sales support includes on-site commissioning, operator and maintenance training, spare parts supply, and remote diagnostics. Pacmac's engineering team designs the full line layout and integration as part of the project scope.
